My background

I grew up in Mosfellsbær, Iceland. I’m a PADI divemaster and have guided at Silfra for 11 seasons, roughly a thousand groups through the fissure—winter and summer. I know what snorkeling Silfra is really like: the cold, the gear, the visibility, the geology, and the honest surprises.
